A few of my favorite clips from a few years back that I found on YouTube. This is definitely my favorite phase of skateboarding and still influences how I skate (or attempt to) today.

There's a potential battle brewing between Caltrans and the people who built a skatepark, on what was once an urban wasteland, in West Oakland. Learn more about the issue here. This is a powerful example of people taking back their neighborhoods and doing something positive without having to deal with the compromise of urban politics.
